چکیده

Natural dyes, obtained from plants, insects/animals, and minerals, are renewable sustainable bioresource products with minimum environmental impact. However, there still many issues to solve related natural dyes; consequently, synthetic dyes wildly used. have a low affinity towards the substrate cotton, so solution had be found: mordants. Mordants can also harmful environment, which is why bio-mordants The mordant used in this paper chitosan. Cotton pre-mordanted using pad dyeing method. By exhaustion method, fabric was coloured red Camellia sinensis (tea) extracts. colour, absorption of polyphenols tannins, ultraviolet protection (UPF) were tested. A comparison study carried out between cotton padded chitosan at two different concentrations. results impressive. absorb more tannins than itself, colour fastness UPF, once laundered, demonstrate some kind bonding fibre, quitosan, active compounds tea. UPF doubled by reddish extracts darker on fabric. increase mordanted fabrics higher gap difference, means that do not confer but enhance protection.

Effects of Polycarboxylic acids on Untreated Cotton and Solubilised Sulphur Dyed Cotton

A number of polycarboxylic acids butane tetracarboxylic acid BTCA, polyacrylic-co-maleic acid PAMA, citric acid, maleic-itaconic MA-IA were examined, in combination with sodium hypophosphite SHP in order to give a similar high fabric crease recovery performance and whiteness index to traditional formaldehyde based crease agents. BTCA showed to be the best crease resist agent for crosslinking co...

Tannins of Constant Structure in Medicinal and Food Plants—Hydrolyzable Tannins and Polyphenols Related to Tannins

In addition to the commonly used classification as hydrolyzable tannins and condensed tannins, tannins can also be categorized into two other types: polyphenols of constant chemical structure (Type A) and polyphenols of variable composition (Type B). Both types of tannins and related polyphenols account for a large part of plant polyphenols, but accurate structure-activity correlations on a mol...

Cancer prevention by tea and tea polyphenols.

The inhibition of tumorigenesis by tea extracts and tea polyphenols has been demonstrated in different animal models, including those for cancer of the skin, lung, oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, bladder, liver, pancrease, prostate, and mammary glands. Caffeine is also active in inhibition of tumorigenesis on the skin, lung, and perhaps other organs. In spite of many in...

Cancer chemopreventive activity and bioavailability of tea and tea polyphenols.

Consumption of tea (Camellia sinensis) has been associated with many health benefits including the prevention of cancer. Based on in vitro experiments, many mechanisms have been proposed to account for the cancer chemopreventive activity. The importance of some of these mechanisms in vivo remains in question due to an incomplete understanding of the bioavailability of the polyphenolic compounds...
